Goal 1: Address (redress) systemic racism by specifically targeting (undoing and curing) the harm caused to African American descendants of U.S. government sanctioned slavery, which are still living and in the United States today.
Objective 1: Target physical takings, deprivations, and losses (such as tangible property, birthrights, and inheritances)
Objective 2: Target reputational harm (such as racist myths that continue to impact the Black community today: ongoing stereotypes that Black descendants of slaves are inferior, undeserving, lazy, ugly, diseased, unintelligent, welfare queens, immoral, unequal, and more violent than peers)
Objective 3: Set clear criteria and guidelines to identify eligible persons
Objective 4: Target, collect, and review familial data to ensure that all eligible persons are identified (no person left behind)
Objective 5: Create compensation report, budget, and schedule to compensate descendants of U.S. government sanctioned slavery
Objective 6: Fund the program
Objective 7: Appoint program guardians
Objective 8: Distribute funds to eligible persons
Objective 9: Create and publicize the program’s final report
Why
My name is Theresa Giovanna. I am a Black female descendant of U.S. government sanctioned slavery. My maternal grandmother arrived to New York City after fleeing segregated Alabama during the pinnacle of civil rights unrest. Three generations of women in my family have fought for redress for the harms caused to African Americans by the unjust, criminal, and inhumane program of U.S. government permitted and promoted wrongful enslavement of Black humans on American soil. To date, descendants of U.S. government sanctioned slavery have not been compensated: America claims this is an impossible task. Yet, year after year, vast American resources are poured from the U.S. government into resettling, aiding, and compensating non-Americans both in the United States and abroad, and the rationale cites many of the same harms that Black Americans have suffered at the behest of the U.S. government.
The United States also continues to claim that the United States is the single most beacon of civil rights, human rights, and freedom of any nation in the world. It is now more apparent than ever that African American descendants of U.S. government sanctioned slavery must ourselves, if at all, fight for ourselves and each other – if we are to be free from oppression and injustice within the United States of America.
Assumptions Made
Based on historical record and precedent, I assume that the U.S. government will not be a partner with me in creating a program where Black descendants of U.S. government sanctioned slavery would finally receive redress and recompense for the injustice endured and the continued wrongful denial of even the slightest indication that America actually believes in justice for ALL (including for the descendants of U.S. government sanctioned slavery.)
Rationale
Supporting the objectives is a wealth of historical, empirical, strategic and economic research (as well as other non-disclosed stealth studies and information) modeling how to proceed – and succeed.
Identified Challenges
As a Black woman in America (a non-immigrant) the United States presently remains a hostile environment for me, and other non-immigrant Black individuals living in America. My very existence and speaking about injustices endured, condoned, and still being nurtured by those in power (i.e. the United States government) has been met with the very same unjustified, abuse of force which my goal aims to redress.
The barrage of opposition I face continues to evolve (for the better) the way that I work. Lastly, when you are at war or in a known hostile camp, it’s best not to share all of your plans. Thus, much of my work will remain stealth – as a defense and offense to known threats which seek and have sought to thwart and undermine the success of this mission.
Contrary to popular belief, most worthwhile endeavors are opposed.
I remain undeterred.
